Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients
- 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Cooking spray
- 1 cup marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
Cut each mozzarella stick in half for easier portions
Set up breading station with three bowls flour in first beaten eggs in second breadcrumb mixture in third
In third bowl mix Italian breadcrumbs panko parmesan Italian seasoning garlic powder paprika salt and pepper
Working with one piece at a time coat mozzarella in flour shaking off excess
Dip in beaten egg letting excess drip off
Press firmly into breadcrumb mixture coating all sides
Dip back in egg then breadcrumbs again for double coating
Place breaded sticks on parchment-lined baking sheet
Freeze for minimum 2 hours or overnight for best results
Preheat air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes
Spray frozen mozzarella sticks generously with cooking spray
Arrange in single layer in air fryer basket not touching
Cook at 390°F for 6-8 minutes until golden brown and crispy
Let cool 2 minutes before serving to prevent cheese from being too hot
Serve immediately with warm marinara sauce for dipping
