Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Sandwich

This Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Sandwich is a flavour-packed delight that puts a healthy twist on a classic favourite!
Ingredients
- 4 boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 burger buns
- Leafy lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Pickles
- Mayonnaise or any preferred sauce
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to make a marinade.
Add chicken breasts to the marinade and let them soak for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the fridge).
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F).
In one bowl, place the flour, and in another bowl, the breadcrumbs.
Remove each chicken breast from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off.
Dredge the chicken in flour, then dip back in the marinade, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Place the breaded chicken in the air fryer in a single layer, cooking in batches if necessary.
Cook for 10 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5-10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and crispy.
While the chicken cooks, toast the burger buns in a toaster or air fryer for a couple of minutes.
Assemble the sandwich by spreading mayonnaise on the bun, adding lettuce, chicken, tomatoes, and pickles.
