Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, diced
- ½ cup marinara sauce, plus extra for dipping
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten for egg wash
- Cooking spray
Instructions
In large bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper until well combined
Fold in diced cooked chicken and marinara sauce into cheese mixture
Divide pizza dough into 4 equal portions on floured surface
Roll each portion into 6-inch circle about ¼-inch thick
Spoon ¼ of filling onto one half of each dough circle, leaving ½-inch border
Brush edges of dough with beaten egg
Fold dough over filling to create half-moon shape, press edges firmly to seal
Crimp edges with fork to ensure tight seal and prevent filling from leaking
Brush top of each calzone with egg wash for golden finish
Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 3 minutes
Spray air fryer basket with cooking spray
Place 2 calzones in basket at a time, not touching
Spray tops lightly with cooking spray
Cook at 375°F for 8 minutes, then carefully flip
Cook additional 7 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F
Let cool 5 minutes before serving with extra marinara sauce for dipping
