Ingrédients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate protein powder
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips optional, for topping

Instructions

Make the Batter

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8x8 inch pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together applesauce, eggs, almond butter, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, protein powder, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  • Pour batter into the pan and spread evenly. Top with dark chocolate chips if using.

Bake and Cool

  • Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • Cool completely before slicing into squares.
