Ingrédients

  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped, any color
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lb ground chicken or ground turkey
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish

Instructions

Cook the Spaghetti

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Sauce

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until fragrant and softened.
  • Add the ground chicken and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Combine and Serve

  • Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss until well coated in the sauce.
  • Sprinkle with shredded Mexican cheese blend and cover for 1-2 minutes until melted.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
