Ingrédients

  • 2 cups milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt optional, enhances flavor
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream for topping, optional
  • 1 tbsp chocolate shavings for garnish, optional

Instructions

Heat the Milk

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until hot but not boiling.

Mix the Cocoa

  • Whisk in the cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Continue stirring for about 2 minutes until everything is well combined.

Serve

  • Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
