Equipment

Ingrédients

  • 2 medium russet potatoes peeled and shredded
  • 1/4 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder optional
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder optional

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes

  • Peel and shred the potatoes using a box grater or food processor.
  • Place the shredded potatoes in a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much moisture as possible.

Season the Mixture

  • Transfer the potatoes to a mixing bowl and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Mix well to evenly distribute the seasoning.

Cook the Hash Browns

  • For air frying: Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Spread the shredded potatoes in a thin, even layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  • For stovetop cooking: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Spread the potatoes into a thin layer and press down gently. Cook for 5-7 minutes per side until crispy and golden brown.

Serve

  • Remove from heat and serve immediately with your favorite condiments.
