Ingrédients

  • 6 medium apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp butter cut into small pieces
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 2 pie crusts homemade or store-bought

Instructions

Prepare the Filling:

  • In a bowl, combine sliced apples, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice. Toss to coat evenly.

Assemble the Pie:

  • Place one pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the apple filling into the crust and dot with butter.
  • Cover with the second crust, seal edges, and cut slits in the top for steam. Brush with egg wash.

Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake pie for 50–55 minutes or until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.

Cool and Serve:

  • Let cool for at least 1 hour before slicing. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
