Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar for filling
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted, for filling
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 1 tbsp milk for glaze
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract for glaze

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  • Add milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 1-2 minutes until smooth.

Fill and Roll

  • Roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.
  • Brush melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 8 even slices.

Bake the Cinnamon Rolls

  • Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-22 minutes until golden brown.

Make the Glaze

  • In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Serve

  • Drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls and serve immediately.
