Ingrédients

Pizza Dough

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water about 110°F
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Toppings

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for brushing the crust

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough with a cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Shape and Assemble

  • Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  • Roll out the dough into a 12-inch circle and transfer it onto a sheet of parchment paper.
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
  • Sprinkle dried oregano for extra flavor.

Bake and Serve

  • Transfer the pizza (with parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and brush the crust lightly with olive oil.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
