Ingrédients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 egg yolks lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 bananas sliced
  • 1 cup vanilla wafers
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional)

Instructions

Make the Pudding:

  • In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually whisk in milk and cook over medium heat.
  • Once warm, whisk some of the mixture into the beaten egg yolks, then return to saucepan and cook until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let cool slightly.

Assemble the Dessert:

  • Layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and warm pudding in a dish or serving cups.
  • Repeat layers and finish with pudding on top.

Chill and Serve:

  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Top with whipped cream before serving if desired.
