Not drying pickles thoroughly causes soggy coating that won't stick

Overcrowding air fryer basket results in uneven cooking and soggy texture
Not pressing breadcrumbs firmly causes coating to be too light
Using only panko or only regular breadcrumbs affects texture balance
Not spraying enough oil prevents golden crispy exterior

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use pickle spears instead of slices?

Yes but cut them into smaller pieces for more even cooking and easier eating.

Why do I need to dry the pickles so thoroughly?

Moisture prevents coating from sticking properly. Pat them very dry for best results.

Can I make these gluten-free?

Yes use gluten-free flour and gluten-free breadcrumbs. Almond flour also works.

What dipping sauce works best?

Ranch is classic but spicy mayo comeback sauce or blue cheese all work great.

Can I bake these in the oven?

Yes bake at 425°F for 12-15 minutes flipping halfway. Won't be as crispy as air fryer.
