If you’re craving a juicy burger that packs a flavour punch, look no further than this Smash Burger with Secret Sauce!
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
- 4 hamburger buns
- 8 slices of American cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon pickle relish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices
- Pickles
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish to make the secret sauce. Set aside.
Preheat a griddle or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them loosely into balls, without compacting.
Place each ball onto the hot surface and immediately smash it down with a spatula to form a thin patty.
Season each patty with salt and pepper and cook for about 3 minutes until the edges are crispy.
Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Toast the hamburger buns on the griddle until golden.
Assemble the burgers by spreading secret sauce on both the top and bottom buns, then layering lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and finally the cheesy patties.
